I know some of you are going to think I’ve lost my marbles here, but that’s kinda the point…I’ve gotta have a little fun with you sometimes! I’ve been loving going through all the new spring styles this week (kind of ironic since the weather is finally warming and I’m inside oozing over handbags online). Soon it’ll be time to get out in that fresh air and strut! So, what to wear?

Frankly there are literally hundreds of bags I could see myself with this spring, but sometimes you know, you get looking and everything feels the same—the same colours, same materials…so, what’s really got my attention this season are the most wild, the colourful, the odd, the bags that pop!

Louis Vuitton Cheche Gypsy Bag

I’m really into the new Cheche Monogram. On this Gypsy bag (sort of an exaggerated version of the Noe from a few years back) it looks just lovely. The black and grey textile look brings the point of the bag right home–casual luxury…it’s what I think is the strongest thing about the Spring 2010 Louis Vuitton line. The soft leather trim, the colourful sac liner and dogtag, the multiple, practical ways to carry it…oh and it’s totally eccentric!

Chanel Flower Basket Tote

This is my just-for-fun addition to the list. After all I think it’s exactly what Lagerfeld had in mind—give us a shocker to catch our attention, and then once we’re all incredulous enough, whack us with a really beautiful spring collection. Well, he got me!

While tons of people are going to be wearing Alexander Mcqueen this season (and rightfully so. Before his tragic passing he was at the peak of his craft and made some truly beautiful bags specifically), a lot of others are going to be wearing Chanel. I’d say more than any designer Chanel produced just such a gorgeous collection for this spring.

LV Kalahari GM Monogram

I just love the audacity of the Louis Vuitton Raindrop Besace handbags. If this one isn’t bold enough, try it in trash bag green! Some people are calling this a “utilitarian” bag, which on one level (it’s designed for the spring rain) is apt, but seriously…this is an eye-catcher through and through. It’s all about sassy style if you ask me.

Gucci Crocodile Skin Jungle Tote

And suddenly I’m a seductress! Hard to find something sexier this spring than Gucci’s new crocodile skin handbags. For one of the first times in recent memory Gucci’s right on top of the sex appeal this season. Alligator skin is right on for me—as long as it looks like the Jungle tote. And the colourful Alligator clutches from Gucci are even saucier.

Fendi Multi-color

I’ve heard some negative criticism of this recent Fendi look, but right now I can’t think of anything better as a colour saviour for spring. It’s overall just a casual Hobo bag with a soft, slouchy feel. It’s light, it’s playful and a little bit odd…perfect as an eccentric look for those first warm—if rainy, days of spring.
